Dragonfire Glass

So who spotted it and bought some - and have you played with it yet?

Yes I got some and had a play... made a focal with it... results a bit disappointing so far.. encased it after reduction, and the reduction disappeared, so it ended up looking a bit like butter pecan encased... no shiny effect at all.  Perhaps it doesn't like being encased.  Will have to try again.

I did similar and have a sort of shiny, MOP sort of finish. Will be see better in daylight tomorrow

Here's a link to a photo of reduced and encased Euros.  The pearlescent luster is there, but is more subtle against the light colored background.  We focused more on the surface effects of gold-flake reduction and a pink strike when developing Euros, as those effects are a bit more unusual.

As always, we'd love to see what you come up with!

Enjoy!

I tried it today - will post pics tomorrow - it looked golden with a lovely pinkish pearlescence on the fully encased part. Of course, it may look different in the morning as they sometimes do  ;)

Never mind the encased ones. I love the ones on the far right in the pic with all the ribbed beads. Pretty, pretty pinkies :)

How could I be at FO all weekend and not know about this????

Yes, golden with a pinky pearly effect on the edges - more experimenting is definitely in order :)
