Well I had my first attempt at making a cab yesterday and dipped my mandrel in the bead release twice just to be safe. But I now cant get the bead off the mandrel, I was so pleased I managed to make one in the first place and its a half decent shape, but its sorta stuck and aint moving anywhere fast ! Just wondered if there is anything ive done wrong, should of done etc... and apart from breaking the bead off of the mandrel are there any tricks to removing them. Basically I think this one failed !

Soak it in a mug of warm water, then ease it off.

Sometimes it also helps to slide a razor blade in between the cab and the mandrel to get it started.

Also gently tap the cab mandrel onto a hard surface ( avoiding glass edge )

If all else fails pop it in the freezer for a bit :)

I hold my wet beads with an old bit of suede coat to give extra grip when taking a bead from the mandrel and twist the mandrel using an old pair of pliers. Actually, thinking about it, it, it's the bead I twist not the pliers.

Did you manage to get it off the mandrel in one piece? I do hope so. Why is it always the good ones that get stuck?!  :-\
