Hi

I bought some mica flakes, but when I use them I'm finidng that they bubble a lot ..... not sure why. I'm making a small bead, rolling in mica and encasing (not letting the flakes touch the flame) .... any ideas??

Thanks

Sounds as if the size of the flakes are trapping air bubbles underneath? Wonder if heating the bead more before you roll it in the flakes could help?

I have mica powder, and if I don't heat the powder into the glass before adding a dot for example the dot gets a straggly edge, and the dot picks up some of the powder.

I think it'll be the same with flakes too. Plus, the flakes will hole air under them, so that's where the bubbles come from.

Also if I put mica powder on too thick and heat for too long, it bubbles, it's quite nice actually :D
