I've been dipping my beads into the pot the etching fluid came in (dangle them in on fishing line).  I hadn't used it for about a month and now it's brownish instead of clear and doesn't seem to etch so well.  Have I killed it?

Hi,

It still keeps working even in its cola lookin form , we have tubs that are over 2 years old but you will notice it slowing down and taking longer the older it gets .

Cheers ,

I was going to ask the same question. Mine as gone dark brown too, but it still etches.

I have hardly used it and am not sure if I will by anymore if it stops etching, as I don't use it enough.

but ended up funny as hell....  ;D ;D ;D

i suspect that it just "feels" like it takes longer, you know - familiarity breeds incontentnessness!!....  8) griet swears it takes longer and longer... i suspect she may just be getting impatient...

she also discovered that warming it slightly makes it work better - DO NOT HEAT TO ANYWHERE NEAR BOILING TEMP though!!!...

Hi ,

Just worried about the health and safety asspect here , as dip'n'etch is a chemical i would not advise heating it up unless you know exactly what the chemical ration will be , fumes etc.
Cheers ,
