Hello from another Rachel!  I'm in Edinburgh, so a wee bit away and I have more of a kiln-forming studio than flameworking but am a general lover of all things glassy!

So what made you want to start?  Have you been to any fairs/shows and seen some nice things?

Jivesjools

well I've been doing a bit of jewellery making for a while now but its just not curbing my creative cravings ha ha then started watching vids on youtube of people making beads and became a 'bit' obsessed lol i just can't wait to give it a go. Thing is theres not really any glasses or that near me. I would love to go to some shows/fairs but don't know where to start. how did you get in to it?

I have sent you a wee PM about classes  ;)

I have been doing glassmaking for around 8/9 years now. I started with stained glass and then fell in love with hot glass whilst travelling.  I came to Edinburgh in 2003 to study a degree in Glass at the art college and graduated in 2007.  There's not many techniques I haven't learnt, although I have to say, some have fallen by the wayside, so that mostly I'm doing screenprinting on flat glass, before kiln-forming.  Although I just got into a show which will be cast glass...

If you look on my gallery on my website, you get an idea of how ecclectic my glassmaking is... but it is my full time profession now!

Jivesjools

I got your pm and am just about to send one back.

I Have had a look at your work and it is fantastic! Glass just amazes me haha!
