Can somebody please tell me how to use Iris Gold Powder properly?? I have bought some and it seemed a good idea at the time and I have been experimenting a little bit by dusting beads in it but not very impressed. I used it on pale amber and whilst the few specks attached to the mandrel went lovely and golden the bead just look darker and rough, on dark amber even worse to call it dog poo colour would be insulting to dog poo.
I am not successful with faux boro either but expect the powder is a little too fine. I expect it is a heat thing? more?less?
I'm on a hot head if that makes any difference. Grateful for any advice  ;D ???

Needs a reducing flame - cover the holes at the base of your HH briefly with tin foil to prevent the oxygen mixing with the propane - that's what I used to do on my HH.  Flash the bead in and out of the end of the flame once it has had a chance to cool a bit (If you try this while the bead is still glowing it will be next to impossible to get the shine) and you should see the shine develop.  Hope that's helpful  :)
