I'm just trying to set up for lampworking and hit a snag. We've had a copper pipe put through a stone barn wall so that the gas cylinder can be outside. We're now having problems with the connectors.Do other people just use the piping supplied by Tuffnells? We can't have the gas inside as we run a B&B and the fire officer would not be happy but the rubber tubing looks fairly flimsy to be used externally. Thanks any advice would be much appreciated.

Torch permanently inside with long bit of orange pipe attached. Cylinder outside on top step permanently (unless it's snowing then I get all sentimental and bring it in in case it gets cold) with short bit of orange connected. Short bit of orange got a bit faded by the sun so hubby wrapped it in insulating tape to protect it. No leaks, no problems.

Propane bottles are not permitted inside habitable buildings in the UK or even in a directly connected location (as in attached garage per eg).

Butane is, but propane is that much more volatile (lower molecular weight/shorter chain length).  Household insurance would be difficult if there were to be a mishap.

I'm not sure about what pipework is permitted; your local gas supplier would/should know all the rules and regs.
