Everything is brown ...

Had a torch session yesterday but very disapointed as everything came out brown or with streaks of brown  Effetre light sky blue came out worst but periwinkle was also streaky and I use this colour all the time with no problems. I tried working hotter and cooler but no real difference.
My only thought is that my gas is getting low so maybe something to do with that ? I'm on a hothead on bulk - any advice folks?

I had streaky beads when the gas got low on my hothead so could be that if not a problem you usually have.  But I was almost down to the last pffft when I got to this stage so ditched what was left and got a refill from the petrol station.

Am amazed how much longer gas lasts on a dual-fuel torch!  Would have been through several cylinders by now on my HH and still some left.  It's Murphy's revenge - I managed to get another (full) cylinder on Freecycle so I had a spare - in the autumn!

this happened to me once when the gas was very low - made a beautiful orange polka dot heart with brown streaks!!  I haven't had this problem since though so why it happened with that particular canister I don't know.

To find out how much gas is left pour a kettle full of boiling/just boiled water down the side of the gas bottle. The condensation mark/level shows what's left.

I had this problem with a HH on mapp gas when either the room was very cold, or the gas was running out.

You could also try working further out... sometimes glass gets sooty if you are too close to the torch head on a HH.

I always knew when the gas was running out, I got closer and closer to the torch head!

I got that, blue and white oh and clear show up worse, very likely low gas and also try giving the hot head a clean up as gunk might be stuck inside.

The puddle is merely hiding the molten glass marks.
They generally add a certain je ne sais quoi to my bijou set up

Hope your loungio had dried out Linda !  Looks like low gas is the problem - can't complain though as I've been using the same tank since the grand opening of the shedio back in August !
Looks like its stringer pulling practice - and bot I need it - for the time being until I can get an replacement - thanks everyone
