Pat, believe me, my bases are anything but good!  From the experience I have had, I'd say you need a very symmetrical bubble, then to pop a very even lip to spin out (any non-symmetrical-ness throws the spin off), and then to spin evenly and with an even heat gradient. It's tricky and frustrating, as my glass bin would show you!

Such wonderful  work in this gallery - love it all but especially the egg cup.  Emma I love your sense of humour and your beautiful work always makes me  .
