Title: White residue when etching...
Post by: Margram on September 21, 2013, 05:58:51 PM
Interesting - http://www.lampworketc.com/forums/showthread.php?t=252240

I always wondered about this. One of the tips is to use washing soda instead of bicarbonate of soda, for safety reasons.

Yes, interesting, I wouldn't have thought to use washing soda.  But by good fortune, I've just run out of baking soda and forget to order more in with Mr Tesco but have bucketloads of washing soda as I use it when dying my scarves.

I wondered what that whitestuff was, as I had the same thing happen yesterday, and thought it was the residue from the bicarb.  Thanks for the link  ;)
